Song Weiyue has a paper-doll boyfriend.
She never in a million years expected the dimensional barrier to break one day.
Her paper-doll boyfriend came to meet her.

The world belongs to 3D, holograms, and AI now.
Song Weiyue is the only one still devoted to 2D paper-doll characters, and still obsessed with scouring all kinds of secondhand markets for vintage merch from before she got into the fandom.
She is the last player of that 2D dating sim.
Then one day, Song Weiyue met a strange person.
The seller was using an alternate account with a terrible reputation, yet had several badges that were obviously official art, though she had never seen them before. And they were selling them at an amazingly good price, what a generous angel.
Maybe they were convention-exclusive badges?
Song Weiyue immediately messaged to say she wanted to buy them.
But the seller changed their tune and quoted an exorbitant price for the popular merch.
Song Weiyue was about to refuse, but she kept looking at that handsome face and finally gritted her teeth. “I’ll take them. Please pack them really carefully.”
A brief silence.
The seller: “...Song Weiyue, are you crazy?”
How did they know her name?
Song Weiyue jumped in fright and blocked them.
But the other person soon realized their mistake, switched to their main account, and explained that they were her schoolmate.
They had heard how much she liked that paper-doll character and had wanted to sell their merch after leaving the fandom, but hadn’t expected the prices to be so high.
They showed Song Weiyue their student ID.
The name was hard to make out, but all the other information was there.
Song Weiyue forgave them, for the sake of those gorgeous pieces of merch.
Not only did the other person have merch she had never seen before, they also had all kinds of rare, out-of-print vintage pieces, and sold them to her for less than their original prices. They even gave her quite a few items for free.
Song Weiyue felt she had met a kind-hearted god.
After she paid, the other person asked, “How about meeting up to make the exchange?”
Since they went to the same school, an in-person exchange would save on shipping and avoid damaging the merch, so Song Weiyue happily agreed.
“What should I call you?” she asked politely.
The other person said mysteriously, “You’ll find out when we meet.”
The agreed-upon day for the exchange arrived.
Song Weiyue went out in her slippers and pajamas, and spotted a tall, broad-shouldered figure in the distance.
For some reason, he seemed familiar.
“I always thought that if I ever met him, I would recognize him. But I realized I wouldn’t. I would only keep falling in love with him, over and over again.”
