The Villain Keeps Trying to Make Me Give Up

On the first day after being reborn, Chu Lezhi excitedly told the future greatest demon lord under heaven, "The two of us should..."

"Team up and take down the cultivation world again!"

"Sure," Ji Yaoqing replied. "I want to retire with you, too."

-

In her previous life, Chu Lezhi was the novel's substitute female supporting character. She fought her whole life, yet in the end she was still constrained by the force of the plot. Her sect crippled her spiritual root, took her golden core, and sacrificed her to bring the sect's darling back to life.

Unable to swallow her rage, she used her blood to alter a formation, summoning Ji Yaoqing, the great villain who had nearly wiped out the novel's entire protagonist team.

Chu Lezhi told him she had been secretly in love with him for a long time.

Her only wish in this life was to retire with him and travel the world.

She tricked Ji Yaoqing into saving her, tricked him into marrying her, then coaxed him into using the information she had won with her life to help her take revenge. At last, she watched her sect die with their eyes open and happily drew her final breath.

Unexpectedly, when Chu Lezhi opened her eyes again, she had returned to her youth and become cultivation partners with Ji Yaoqing once more. This time, things did not go as she had imagined, with them slaughtering their way through the world.

When she beat someone up, Ji Yaoqing said, "Don't stoop to their level."

Chu Lezhi: ... :)

She finally couldn't take it anymore and left.

She never expected her next reunion with Ji Yaoqing to come on the day she was preparing to kill the master who had taken her golden core in her previous life.

"Sorry."

Inside the sect, blood rained from the sky. Corpses were piled high.

The young man sat at the very top, one leg propped up, his foot resting on her master's skull as he looked down and smiled. "You don't mind that I killed everyone you wanted to see, do you?"

-

Ji Yaoqing had been puzzled by the same thing in both his lives:

What kind of person did Chu Lezhi like, exactly?

* Both leads are reborn.

* The male lead isn't really a slacker. He's a smiling schemer in front of the female lead.
