I Find Her Disgusting

[This novel will be going premium on May 11, with a 10,000-character update that day. Thank you for your support!] Jiang Xidai was the sect master of the Killing Sect. In this life, she was steeped in blood debts and never let a slight go unavenged. Countless people had died at her hands, making her an infamous villain in the cultivation world. Relying on her profound cultivation, she was arrogant and had roamed the land without ever tasting defeat. Yan Huirou was the least noteworthy of the souls who had died at her hands. She was as weak as an ant, and Jiang Xidai barely even knew her... She had merely been caught in the crossfire. And yet, somehow, she was the one who caused Jiang Xidai to die for no apparent reason with a single sword strike. A baffling death. Reborn into a new life, Jiang Xidai found a thing calling itself a "System" in her mind. The System told her that a girl named Yan Huirou was the heroine of this romance novel, "White Lotus". Her character was that of a weak, saintly white lotus, blessed with outrageous luck and a damage-reflection buff. Damage-reflection buff? A protagonist? A romance novel? How annoying. She didn't understand a word of it, and she refused to believe it. The first thing Jiang Xidai did after being reborn was seek revenge: she struck Yan Huirou down ninety-nine times, died ninety-nine times, and was reborn ninety-nine times. At last, on the hundredth try, she grew tired of swinging her sword. Hmph, a protagonist. What an obnoxious golden finger. So she tried another approach. She brought Yan Huirou along, kept her at the Killing Sect, and began observing her up close to find out what made this girl so special that the Heavenly Dao favored her so much. * She hadn't brought the girl back so she could live a life of comfort. They were sworn enemies, with blood between them. Even if Yan Huirou couldn't repay her with her life... Jiang Xidai couldn't stand the sight of her, so naturally she had to make the girl suffer. Except... Jiang Xidai ordered her to kneel in the hall for a long time, and her own knees stayed swollen for three days. She was so furious her teeth hurt, yet afterward she could only sneakily send someone to bring the girl medicine. Jiang Xidai lost her temper and slapped her, only for half her own face to ache as if it shared in the honor. She couldn't eat or sleep, but afterward she could only secretly help the girl heal. Jiang Xidai deliberately sent her out on a trial, hoping she would never return. Instead, Yan Huirou reflected an attack back and killed a Mahayana demon beast all by herself, then even advanced a level. The young girl returned carrying a pile of rare treasures, her eyes full of sincerity and remorse: "I thought... Sect Master had abandoned me, sending me into such a dangerous place. Now I understand the care behind your actions." "I was wrong to misunderstand you." She spoke with utter sincerity and remorse. "You're so good to me." Then she placed a tender, treasured kiss on Jiang Xidai's cheek. The thing called the System suddenly chimed. Jiang Xidai glanced at it and saw that the protagonist's affection level had soared sky-high through her repeated attempts to murder her. The decisive, ruthless Sect Master Jiang felt a soft, delicate arm looped around her waist. Her beautiful eyes widened, and she froze on the spot. * Yan Huirou had seen very little sunlight in her life. Jiang Xidai was one of its rays. Everyone knew the fearsome reputation of "Crimson in the Hall," but to Yan Huirou, the beautiful woman before her was only a little fierce sometimes, with a bad temper, yet still full of thoughtful kindness. For example, she had pulled her out of a bottomless underground cavern. For example, she had secretly sent someone to bring her salve. For example, she had secretly healed her injuries. She gave Yan Huirou food, clothes, shelter, and everything else she needed. She sent her on trials to temper her, and watched her emerge like a butterfly from its cocoon. But Jiang Xidai didn't know that it had all begun much earlier. Yan Huirou had first fallen for her... before they ever met. * "A wicked villainess?" Meeting the woman's tearful eyes, Yan Huirou caressed her breathtaking face and said gently, "You're so lovable. How could you be one?" "..." The snake-hearted beauty who had made the entire cultivation world tremble and unleashed countless storms of bloodshed heard this and... She closed her eyes, unable to bear the memory, and gripped the bedsheets beneath her with restrained force. Was this how romance novels were written? She wasn't sure. She'd have to keep reading. A villainous, snake-hearted beauty x a saintly white-lotus heroine Content warning: One of the heroines has had a former lover (female). Theme: Always face hardship and setbacks with optimism.
