Three hours later.

On the verge of a breakdown, Clyde holds a potato in one hand and a knife in the other, and starts peeling potato strip number N+1.

Years later, a fellow adventurer asks Clyde how he trained himself to keep his hands from shaking.

Clyde: ...

Clyde: Peeling potatoes.

After everything settles down, Clyde, having leveled himself all the way up, immediately puts his homebody nature to work and prepares to continue his dream of a quiet retirement.

But the leaders of various factions, who see him as their dearest friend, savior, and idol, all shout, "Come out and have fun! Let's party together!!"

Clyde: ...I think I'll pass.

The male insect, known across the continent as a living weapon, pulls Clyde into his arms, radiating displeasure.

Clyde finally remembers what he'd been interrupted from doing. He presses the male insect's head down and rises onto his toes to plant a quick kiss on his lips.

The male insect's ears turn bright red. Like a big cat being petted the right way, he says, "...Kiss me again."

Content notes:

1. Not a traditional interstellar insectoid setting. It only keeps the original insectoid elements: gender, a large number of females compared to males, and insect markings on females and hermaphrodites. Everything else is the author's own setting.

2. The plot and romance are roughly a 60/40 split.

3. There is no system, only a choice panel, like the dialogue boxes in a story game that ask you to choose an action.

4. No pregnancy plot.

5. An ensemble story with many characters, and the full work is on the long side.
