In Beika Town, Where Everyone's a Relative...

▍Family tree on Weibo: @Beiye Jiangzhan! ▍Entire setting heavily reworked, gag story, first person, short story ▍Synopsis: I'm Kudo, a high school detective. One day, I ran into another me from a parallel world. I was in the middle of catching a certain phantom thief when he stopped me and said the thief's true identity was "I know. He's my cousin. Uncle Toichi's been away these past few years, so he lives at our house." "Huh?" "Though Hattori and Okita have moved in lately, too. They're relatives on Grandma's side." He was utterly shocked, though I had no idea what he was shocked about. Then he told me that in the future, a member of an evil organization with silver hair and a black hat would force me to drink poison, turning me into an elementary school student! "That sounds a lot like our eldest cousin, Gin." "..." "He came over for dinner yesterday with our other cousin, Vodka." My future self fell silent for a while, then took out a photo of our eldest cousin Gin with several other relatives and asked, "Do you know these people?" "Auntie Vineyard, who's an actress in America; our distant relatives, Rei and Hiromitsu, who lived next door when we were kids; cousin Akai, Aunt Mary’s son; and cousin Miyano, Aunt Elena’s daughter..." When I finished, I looked up and saw his face go completely blank. So I poked my future self and asked: "So why are they all in the same photo? And why are they dressed so fashionably?" "They're members of the criminal organization, the Karasuma Group." "Huh? Isn't Karasuma our great-grandfather's surname?" My future self clutched his chest and left, looking frail. I never saw him again after that. ▍Please note: 1. This is a cheerful, everyday story with no major overarching plot. It's guaranteed to stay happy from beginning to end. 2.
