Made for Each Other

[Reporter & Star, Rekindled Romance]

After her family fell on hard times,

Lin Jinshu worked diligently as a junior reporter.

One day, during an interview,

she discovered that the newly famous top-tier star

was the boyfriend she’d hired back in college.

Back then, he needed money,

and she had plenty of spending money.

He raised an eyebrow, watching her with composure.

With the camera operator urging her on,

she could only steel herself and step forward,

clipping the microphone to his collar.

She didn’t dare look up at him the whole time.

“Long time no see, Jinbao.”

His words were intimate, his tone mocking.

Later,

he cornered her on her way home from work.

“Fifty thousand a month. How about you come work for me from now on? The same amount you paid me in college.”

When she said nothing, the sneer at the corner of his mouth deepened.

“Five hundred thousand a month. Is that enough?”

“Or five million? Fifty million?”

Lin Jinshu finally looked up. “I’m sorry. I was young and foolish back then, and I hurt you.”

“I’m not that short on money, so there’s no need.”

With that, she turned and walked away.

Later still, in the dead of night, he pinned her against a wall and said in a low voice, “I came here today to tell you that I can’t let you go.”

Much later, he found an old photograph in her room. The boy in the picture had his arm around her shoulders and was smiling gently. His features looked so much like his own.

Only then did he understand:

from the very beginning,

her infatuated gaze

had only been looking through him at someone else.

He pinned her to the bed, took off his glasses, and kissed her. Warm tears fell onto her face.

“Please, love me. Will you?”

The last time, he bowed his head because he was forced to.

This time, he bent his back of his own free will.

Content warnings:

1. One-on-one romance.

2. The heroine has a first love she can’t forget, and the male lead used to be a substitute. This is a classic trope, so please don’t mock it.

3. At first, the male lead doesn’t realize he’s in love and acts cold, but secretly does her laundry. Later, when he finds out he’s a substitute, he goes mad.

Theme: The darkness will pass, and the light will come.
