Eastern nun x godfather
Li Ye first saw Wendell in front of the rose window.
He stood at the center of the steps,
with ornate statues behind him.
His hands were clasped, a cross necklace dangling from his palms, silently matching the red cross on his cuff.
As Li Ye stared, momentarily stunned, Wendell raised his eyes.
Sunlight passed through the stained glass, casting mottled shadows.
He turned his gaze to Li Ye and watched her calmly.
_
Li Ye's older brother was stern and rigid, and never let her out of his control.
He arranged for Li Ye to stay in the church as a nun.
The space was cramped, warm and damp.
Li Ye pressed herself against the wall behind her, breathing tensely.
Wendell bent down and grabbed her wrist.
Her sleeve slid back, revealing red marks on her skin left by a ruler.
Wendell's gaze paused. He leaned closer to Li Ye, a faint smile at the corner of his eyes. His deep blue eyes were like a whirlpool, tempting her to fall in.
"Good girl."
"You should leave him. Perhaps I can help you."

An apple begins to rot with its very first bite.
On the third day Li Ye was trapped in the church,
she leaned against the cold surface in front of the rose window.
Her breath fogged the glass. Behind her, Wendell lowered his head and pressed down on the hand she had placed against the glass, their fingers interlocking.
Li Ye held back a sob. "If you do this, my brother will find out..."
Wendell leaned close to Li Ye's ear, watching her shoulders tremble faintly.
He chuckled softly. "It doesn't matter."
"Li Ye, you can tell your brother what I did to you."
