Anxiety-ridden girl x cool, reserved, salt-of-the-earth type
On the day she decides to say goodbye to Shen Ying, Wan An sits on the stairwell steps, taking shelter from the rain.
Raindrops fall in front of the glass door, blurring the neon nightscape into a haze.
As she stares off into space, a slender man pushes open the glass door.
He folds up his umbrella, glances idly at Wan An, and passes by without a word.
Wan An calls his name: "Shen Ying."
He stops and looks at Wan An with a faintly amused expression, his black bangs hiding part of his eyes.
Neon light spills into the darkness. Standing on the same step as Wan An, he asks, "Waiting for me?"
Wan An nods.
Shen Ying bends down toward Wan An.
He arches an eyebrow slightly and lowers his voice. "Didn't you say yesterday that you didn't know me?"

On a sweltering afternoon, Wan An stands in the shadows of the room and suddenly asks,
"How many more summers will we have?"
Shen Ying gazes at the fish tank in front of him. Light and shadow ripple, and a red goldfish seems to swim across his eyes.
"Countless," he answers.
Goldfish die if they don't get enough oxygen.
