The Universally Hated Beta Returns to the Top

Three years ago, 18-year-old beta Ye Fan went from a garbage dump to an elite military academy, showered in flowers and praise. Full of confidence, he outshone the alphas and left countless prodigies in his shadow.

Then an accident left Ye Fan gravely injured, unable to lift a finger. In an instant, slander, abuse, and betrayal came one after another. Ye Fan endured it all, then disappeared without a word.

Three years later, the System descended from the heavens.

Still dreaming of piloting a mecha, Ye Fan plastered on a polite smile and started making friends.

Recently, many alphas have noticed something: that beta, who had kept his pride even after falling into the mud, seems to have accepted his lot.

He smiles.

He flatters alphas.

He does whatever an alpha tells him to do. What a shameless, worthless dog.

The alphas who insult Ye Fan don't notice that they never take their eyes off him.

"Haha, that's hilarious. That beta's sucking up to someone else again."

"Seriously, who falls for that?"

"If he tried that on me, I wouldn't even spare him a glance."

As soon as the alpha finishes speaking, he turns around and is so captivated by Ye Fan's smile that he loses all sense of direction.

"Fine, I'm just jealous. I don't even get to be his friend," the alpha says, lowering his head.

Those words hit a nerve with countless alphas. Hate or love, it all comes down to Ye Fan. At least Ye Fan is becoming more and more dazzling and impossible to reach.

Well, that's fine.

But at the military academy league, Ye Fan leads Blue Star Military Academy to first place. Amid the applause, he embraces the silver-haired alpha who's always been by his side.

"This is my alpha, Song Shuhan. We're getting married tomorrow."

The applause stops.

Listen to the sound of hearts breaking.

PS: A confident, dazzling, universally adored shou x a younger, aloof, abstinent, commanding gong.

The shou pretends to be a clingy sycophant early on. Expect a groveling redemption arc and plenty of rivalry.

It's really a story about someone going from universally despised to universally adored.
