Invincible, Yet Addicted to Riding Coattails

College student Xiang Ci woke up one day in the apocalypse.

Monsters that devoured people were everywhere. The slightest slip could make you their next meal. But it was fine. After a year of scraping by, Xiang Ci finally bound himself to the Cannon Fodder Survival System.

System: [You're cannon fodder.]

Xiang Ci: "Let's skip the standard spiel. Tell me how to stay alive."

System: "."

Following the Cannon Fodder Survival System's instructions, Xiang Ci began attaching himself to powerful people.

A superpowered person who cleared up pollutants?

Attached!

The head of the Human Survivors' Alliance?

Attached with all his might!

A top-grade pollutant that could swallow pollutants whole?

Ah... I guess... I'll attach myself to you too.

Whenever something went wrong, the powerful people he'd attached himself to would swoop in and save Xiang Ci from danger.

The cannon fodder survived another difficult day. Xiang Ci was happy and content.

What Xiang Ci didn't know was that the people he clung to got chills whenever they saw him smile.

Seriously, what sort of stunt is this Demon King going to pull today?

Year 233 of the apocalypse.

A city was suddenly struck by intense pollution, and every living creature inside transformed into a 3S-level monster. The place became known as hell on earth.

But at some point, a young man in a T-shirt, shorts, and flip-flops moved in.

He stayed there for a whole year. Half the terrifying aberrations ended up on his dinner table, and the other half became decorations on his clothes. Humanity watched the young man closely, praying he would never leave hell on earth.

But he came out anyway.

What nobody expected, though, was that the Demon King who emerged was wearing a cute pink skirt and acting coy toward a superpowered person he'd scared stiff:

"Big brother, if I go with you, will you protect me?"

Humanity: "???"

Premise: Believe in yourself.
