Marital Compatibility

Not-so-close college acquaintances x marriage first, love later x he falls first

After returning from studying abroad, Wen Li agrees to the marriage her family has arranged.

The moment she hears who she's marrying, she trembles with fear.

It's Chen Zhoujing, an heir to one of the most powerful families in the capital, and her senior from college.

Wen Li is afraid of him because she once saw him stab someone with a knife at university.

The victim vanished the next day, yet Chen Zhoujing showed up at school as if nothing had happened.

After the wedding, the thought that occupies Li Qing most is how to please Chen Zhoujing so he won't try to kill her.

Chen Zhoujing is cold by nature and dislikes getting close to people.

He thought married life would be as still as a pond, but his wife turned out to be genuinely amusing.

She always does things that no ordinary person would think of just to make him happy.

She loves him so much, and he doesn't mind giving her all his affection.

But later, he accidentally overhears Li Qing talking with a friend.

“I saw it with my own eyes: the knife went in white and came out red.”

“What romance? I only act sweet to him because I'm afraid of dying.”

Only then does he realize that Wen Li doesn't love him. She's afraid of him.

One day, after noticing Chen Zhoujing growing more and more unpredictable,

Wen Li's worst fear finally comes true.

Chen Zhoujing holds the back of a knife against her neck. Her legs go weak with fear.

“Are you afraid of me?”

Thinking she'll vanish without a trace the next day, she watches Zhou Jiyu put the knife away. He takes her hand and closes it around the hilt, placing the sharp blade against his heart. Then he smiles and asks, “Are you still afraid?”
