My Monster

You're nineteen and about to start university.

You've been accepted to the medical school at University X, which makes your family a little uneasy.

Ever since you were little, you've been able to see things that aren't meant to be seen.

Blind Chen, the fortune-teller at the village entrance, said you had an extremely weak birth chart and an intensely yin fate. He said you needed to pay your respects at a temple and ask a powerful deity to protect you.

When you were seven, your parents followed his advice.

You had been possessed by something and burned with a fever for seven days and nights. No matter what they did, it wouldn't come down. With no other options, your desperate parents carried you into the mountains in the middle of the night to seek the protection of a temple said to be very effective.

Perhaps the road was too dark, or perhaps they were too panicked. On the way back, they were in a car accident, and you were the only one who survived.

Those poor parents had no idea that they'd gone to the wrong temple and asked the wrong god for help.

Even the ritual performed that night was not the "adoption ceremony" the temple keeper had told them it was.

It was a "marriage ceremony."

No one knows exactly what you were married to.

But one thing is clear:

Whatever it is, it likes you very, very much.

Please note:

1. The male lead is a nonhuman being and will never take human form. One-on-one romance.

2. There is a teaspoon of the grotesque and horror. Not much, but it may be a little scary.

3. This story is entirely fictional. There are no ghosts in the real world.

4. For the sake of world peace, please don't mention other authors in the comments under my work, or mention me under other authors' work. Many thanks, and sending love. Thank you for your cooperation.

Theme: May all lovers in the world find their happy ending.
