This Palace Only Wants to Be Empress

Blurb One:

As the legitimate daughter of the Ding'an Marquis's second wife and the half-sister of the current empress, Shu Yin can certainly be considered highborn.

All the noblewomen in the capital know that the empress and her younger stepsister are deeply devoted to each other. But only Shu Yin knows that she and the current empress, her elder half-sister on their father's side, are bitter enemies.

The daughter of the first wife and the daughter of the second wife are natural rivals, their relationship set against each other from the start.

Unwilling to spend her whole life at the mercy of others, even having her marriage dictated by them, Shu Yin decides to go all in: she'll take the empress's husband and claim her throne.

Blurb Two:

After Shu Yin enters the palace, the consorts look at her face, beautiful as a celestial maiden, and secretly curse the empress for leaving them no way out.

She already has the empress's throne and a legitimate son, yet she still brings her own stepsister into the palace to compete for the emperor's favor and control the inner court.

No one knows how utterly miserable the empress feels beneath her dignified, virtuous facade.

Blurb Three:

With the empress's position firmly secure, Shen Ji had no intention of allowing another daughter of the Shu family into the imperial harem.

That was until the day of the selection, when he saw Shu Yin's face and began to waver.

It turned out that even an emperor was ultimately just an ordinary man.
