Wenzhi dreams of a little boy every night. In the dream, he sleeps in a drafty cowshed, his frail body covered in scars.

In the dream, she can't do anything. She can only keep him silent company. The boy grows up little by little, and the gloom inside him grows heavier and heavier.

The last time she dreams of him, several corpses lie in the room. He stands there covered in blood, looking back toward the door with relief in his eyes.

Wenzhi wakes with a start. Unexpectedly, the next moment she is transported back several decades. The boy from her dream is freezing and starving in the cowshed.

She takes him away, teaches him to read, and makes sure he has enough to eat and warm clothes to wear. But two years later, he dies an untimely death.

A few years later, she transmigrates to his side again. Looking at the gloomy boy before her and remembering the scene from her dream, with him covered in blood, her heart skips a beat. She goes to great lengths to guide him into becoming a decent young man, but before long, he dies an untimely death again.

Before she dies, she is relieved that she managed to set the boy on the right path.

Back home, just as she's about to celebrate, she sees the boy's face on a program called Top Ten Criminals Revealed.

Wenzhi: "…"

Zhou Yan lost both his parents at the age of five and went to live with his uncle, slowly growing numb from hunger and beatings.

When he was eight, a woman who claimed to be his maternal aunt took his hand and led him out of the cowshed. She taught him to read and write, but the good times didn't last. She died when he was ten.

When he was eighteen, a widow moved in next door. She followed him around every day, fussing over him and telling him to study hard. She taught him how to make money, but the good times didn't last for her either. She died when he was twenty.

As he waited day after day, he slowly grew numb.

Since Heaven was unjust, he would seek it out himself.
