Marrying a Sickly Beauty

You Ling transmigrates into the body of a dirt-poor farm girl. Her parents are dead, leaving her with a young brother. To save on food, her uncle marries her off to a man in the city who is on the verge of dying from illness.

The man's parents are desperate to give their son an heir, so they keep urging the couple to consummate their marriage. They promise that as soon as she has a child, they will let her go and give her a shop.

Looking at the handsome, frail man lying in the bed before her, You Ling thinks: Consummating the marriage is fine. It's no loss. But having a child is absolutely out of the question.

Since she can't get anywhere with the old couple, she'll go after the sickly man instead. To get the divorce papers, You Ling pulls out every trick she has, trying to coax him into giving them to her.

She never expected that this sickly man, who could keel over at any moment, would keep her up night after night.

Exhausted, You Ling gives up. This is too much work; she can't handle it. She might as well give up and wait for him to die.

A month passes. The man shows no signs of dying.

Two months pass. Still no sign of it.

You Ling wants to throw her head back and cry out: Why isn't he dead yet!
