It was raining when they first met.

Fine threads of rain drifted steadily down from the overcast sky, splashing into sparkling droplets.

At Central Park, Wen Se was sitting on a bench, waiting for his fiance, who had not arrived by their agreed time. Just as he was about to leave, he looked up and saw Bai Xi in military uniform.

The newcomer had messy, shoulder-length silver hair and was slightly out of breath. He bent down in front of Wen Se, flustered despite his effort to appear calm, his pale pink eyes reflecting his anxiousness as he quietly explained why he was late.

And just like that, Wen Se's disappointment vanished. With a faint smile, he asked:

"It's raining, Officer. Did you bring an umbrella?"

Wen Se and Bai Xi's marriage began with a match made by the matchmaking System. For Wen Se, it was a way to escape loneliness.

[For Bai Xi, it was also a choice made in pursuit of revenge.]

Their 100% genetic compatibility had once made Wen Se believe they would have a warm home together, but reality dealt him a heavy blow.

[Their 100% genetic compatibility allowed Bai Xi to court whatever factions he wished without restraint. But a flower of lies will always wither, and even the loveliest dream must one day end.]

Without a Floating Cloud insect, a Puxisi tree with no roots will fall, then wither and dry up.

[Without Puxisi pollen, a Floating Cloud insect cannot break through its cocoon stage and will remain trapped until death.]

Neither of them could live alone.

That was the truth behind their marriage, a deception from the very beginning.

Theme: Lonely people will eventually find warmth.
