My Best Friends' Character Settings Have Mutated

What is the world after death like?

Bourbon, a member of the Black Organization, doesn't know. Neither does Rei Furuya, the Public Security officer.

Because he is still alive.

But after his childhood friend died, the pain in his heart felt as if a vital part of him had been cut away. It was a perfect illustration of what it means to be worse than dead.

In the darkness, Bourbon can only hide every emotion in his eyes, wear a dangerous, sweet smile, and do his best to play the part of a dangerous man caught up in the aftermath of a traitor's actions.

Then one day, he stumbles into a strange scene.

"What did you just say? Say that again!"

A purple-eyed young man with half-long hair glares ferociously. Dressed in a black suit, with sunglasses slung diagonally across his face, he tightly grips the collar of Bourbon's target for the night and drags him close.

His eyes are fierce as he threatens the man in a low, harsh voice.

The purple-eyed young man looks exactly like one of his dear friends, who died in the line of duty years ago. But his clothes and way of speaking are just like those of that friend's childhood friend.

Beside him, a familiar curly-haired bastard wears a sweet, frivolous smile and gaudy clothes, "gently" breaking up the fight with obvious favoritism.

Bourbon's pupils quake.

Is this a hallucination?

From then on, one bizarre scene after another, each with the characters acting completely out of character, plays out before his eyes.

A blond man with dark skin stares blankly into space. Maybe he should go see a psychiatrist after all.

What a surreal world!
