I'm Just a Convenience Store Owner [Infinite]

[The main story is complete. Please add the upcoming novel A Survival Guide to the Eerie Aristocratic Academy [Infinite] to your reading list.]

Tan Xiaoxiao runs a convenience store. Her daily worries are difficulty restocking, delivery drivers who always bring the wrong things, rude customers, and her own minor mental health issues.

Until one day, she meets a strange group of people who call themselves players.

They’re a little odd and rather clingy, but they’ve spent quite a bit in her store, so helping them out now and then is no big deal.

After all, she’s a kind convenience store owner.

…

Eerie Disaster is a game developed by higher-dimensional beings. Its only purpose is to watch 169,232 low-level planets tear one another apart to survive.

Blue Star has long been plagued by famine and disaster after one defeat after another.

As the last glimmer of hope, the Fireseed Squad, teetered on the brink of defeat, everyone on Blue Star watching the livestream was utterly despairing.

Just then, the lights came on in a small convenience store.

An “ordinary” young woman stood under its warm sign and invited the bedraggled Blue Star players inside.

“Would you like to come in and sit for a while?”

After that, a few unwritten rules appeared in the game.

Rule One: There’s a safe convenience store in the Eerie Disaster world. The owner has a strange temper, but she’s especially fond of people from Blue Star.

Rule Two: When the owner goes out to restock, you’d better follow her. You might get lucky and find a high-grade eerie artifact.

Rule Three: The store carries food with zero percent contamination and eerie artifacts that can restrain the eerie. Don’t steal or snatch anything.

The owner is terrifying when she gets angry.

…

Seaweed rice balls that restore health, candy that reduces mental contamination, disinfectant that restrains the eerie…

Looking at the dazzling array of eerie artifacts and supplies, the Blue Star players said, “Stick close to Sister Tan! It’s great to win without lifting a finger!”

Just as life on Blue Star was flourishing and prospering, and Blue Star’s players were following Sister Tan to beat up low-level planets and getting ready to kick high-level planets, everyone suddenly realized something.

The convenience store’s security guard, cleaning lady, and shop assistant all had extraordinary identities.

Even the dog the owner kept could swallow an S-rank eerie whole!

Then what exactly was this woman’s identity? Could she be the legendary ruler of a forbidden zone?!

A bewildered Tan Xiaoxiao: ? What are you talking about?

I’m just a small business owner working hard to stock and run my convenience store!

The heroine is mentally obsessive and the strongest in the story.

In the year 2030, the eerie game descended upon Blue Star.

Other planets drew retired soldiers, scientists, and senior managers… while Blue Star drew an unconscious person in a vegetative state.

After failing the college entrance exam, Li Jiao missed a step and became a vegetable.

After waking from a coma that had lasted for years, a “nurse” with an amused smile handed her an admission letter to an aristocratic academy.

The letter also had a line of small print: [If you have any questions, please call the admissions office at the number below.]

She called. The voice that answered sounded very young, yet carried an odd composure.

“Student Li, have you decided to enroll? I should warn you that this school can be dangerous…”

Li Jiao: “Can I study there?”

The other person fell silent for a moment. “Yes.”

“Are all the textbooks available?”

“…Yes.”

“What about the library?”

“Our school library has the largest collection in the entire interstellar world.”

“Then what’s there to think about?”

Li Jiao thought the other person was being utterly unreasonable. “These days, is anything more dangerous than not having books to read?”

An aristocratic academy, huh? It would be the usual F4, strict class divisions, and bullying the specially admitted students.

The person on the other end of the phone fell silent again, as if pondering the deeper meaning of her words.

After a long while, they gave a quiet laugh, their tone hard to read. “All right. Congratulations on your admission. See you at school.”

Campus life was every bit as exciting as expected. The students were divided into six ranks, S, A, B, C, D, and E, and there were all kinds of club activities for improving their résumés and building connections.

They just loved inviting her to all sorts of cosplay parties in the middle of the night, each with a different theme. Refusing meant losing academic credits.

You young people sure have a lot of energy.

Many E-rank students like her, who had also been admitted through special enrollment, kept talking about dropping out and escaping, and asked Li Jiao to come with them.

Li Jiao wouldn’t. This school was amazing, and she loved being there. A million in scholarship money, plus a recommendation letter after graduation. Only a fool would drop out!

And so, viewers across the interstellar world watched this vegetable compete with S-rank eerie for a spot in a competition, challenge A-rank eerie in physical fitness tests, and even throw bloody parties with them…

In the end, she even fell into a pure and innocent campus romance with the mastermind behind it all, the legendary Evil God.

666, you Blue Star people really are brave.

Theme: Run an honest business and be glad to help others.
