Jiang He is helping his friend Chen Ji on a blind date. As he walks into the cafe from a distance, the person standing at the counter looks familiar. The matchmaker eagerly points him out and makes the introductions: "He's a Beta, seven years older than you. You're young and impulsive, so he'd be just the person to keep you in line. He's the type you'd want to build a life with." "He's a teacher, with a permanent position. Stable, practically a job for life." "And he's very handsome, more than good enough for you." The matchmaker waits for Tan Cenlin to approach. "Come on, Mr. Tan, get acquainted. This is the young Chen I told you about. Handsome and full of energy, isn't he?" Tan Cenlin pauses, then gives a slight nod. "Hello." Jiang He: "..." Wait, he looks familiar. Damn, isn't this Tan Cenlin, his high school Chinese teacher!? - Jiang He steels himself and sits down. The matchmaker goes on and on beside him, while he can only keep sipping his coffee to hide his embarrassment. Tan Cenlin, meanwhile, wears a refined smile and has a gentle air about him, his expression utterly impeccable. Every so often, their eyes meet, and then they quickly look away. The matchmaker pats Jiang He on the shoulder and encourages him. "Your mom said you like the gentle, bookish type who knows just how to comfort you. You'd better act fast, Mr. Tan is quite the catch." Jiang He: "..." Gentle? Knows how to comfort me? Tan Cenlin? He shudders, feeling like he is sitting on pins and needles. Tan Cenlin suddenly speaks up. "You like the gentle, bookish type who knows just how to comfort you?" "I seem to remember you once saying that your ideal partner was..." "Fair-skinned and beautiful, with a smoking-hot figure, able to host guests and cook, and preferably aloof toward you, a challenge, a feisty little firecracker who can keep you in line?" Jiang He: "..." His face turns pale, then red. "I never said 'feisty little firecracker'! Cao Hong was making that up!" - Many years later Jiang He: Hey, I love a feisty little firecracker. Mr. Tan really is spicy! In every sense of the word. Jiang He (Alpha) X Tan Cenlin (Beta), A top, B bottom Theme: Nurture love with care, and let it bloom into happiness.
