The Test Subject Who Escaped Alive

But one day, his little puppy suddenly doesn't recognize him.

The eyes are just as bright and expressive, but their whites are distinctly yellow, streaked with veins of red. They fix intently on Tan You.

This isn't the Gu Xing who can be clingy, endure pain, and always insist on being strong, sometimes showing off. This is a marionette who can only move his eyes.

His eyes scan Tan You, fully recording him as a target in his brain's system. Then they begin to carry out their initial command.

Kill him.

Later, Lu Xiyu learned the truth.

He and his brother weren't related by blood at all.

And so the feelings he'd suppressed for years spread like wildfire.

"So what if I love my brother?"

"Lu Yinchen, you're not even my real brother. What are you afraid of?"

Ignoring Lu Yinchen's warnings, he threw his arms around the other's slender body and kept telling him, over and over, that he loved him.

Until Lu Yinchen coughed up a huge mouthful of blood.

Lu Yinchen suddenly fell gravely ill and coughed up blood. The team rushed to the medical department and found Lu Xiyu slumped in a corner, head bowed and eyes red.

Team member: "The chief was fine yesterday. How did he suddenly..."

Lu Xiyu, sulking: "I made him sick."

Team member: "?? How did you do that?"

Lu Xiyu: "I told my brother I love him."

Team member: "..."

After a few seconds of silence, every team member quietly took a step back.

They got it.

The thing in front of them was a top-level mutant. The commander had suffered the worst operational disaster of his career.
