Bai Que is a nameless male insect cannon fodder in an insectoid novel.

The leads of this world are a scummy top and a pathetic bottom, and the bottom is the top’s poor, abused female slave, treated like a doormat.

One day, Bai Que watched a long-legged female insect with a slender waist being dragged toward the dungeon reserved for the scummy top’s female slaves.

With looks that incredible, he had to be the male lead’s love interest.

Then one day, passing by the dungeon, Bai Que caught the pheromones of a new female slave, who couldn’t control himself, and accidentally ended up embracing him.

When Bai Que woke up and saw the “male lead’s love interest” curled up silently in a corner, he thought, fell quiet, and felt guilty.

“How about… you become my female monarch?”

Xiuluosi is a marshal who was betrayed.

His fiancé cheated on him, then joined forces with the rebels to cast him out to a remote frontier planet teetering on the brink of chaos. He remained trapped in a dark dungeon until Bai Que came along and freed him.

To get a male insect’s pheromones, Xiuluosi hid his identity and did his best to play the pitiful female slave Bai Que thought had been abused like a doormat, joining him in putting on a show of a loving male lord and female monarch.

He had assumed Bai Que would discard him like any other male insect once he was no longer useful. But Bai Que took his hand and soothed away every bit of his shame. He made Xiuluosi sheathe his claws, wanting only to hold on tight to the one ray of light in his long, lonely life.

Bai Que noticed his female monarch was growing more and more domineering.

Bai Que: “You never used to care what time I got home at night.”

A tender, possessive kiss landed on his Adam’s apple. “Then why were you drinking with that female insect prince until ten at night? Because he’s more virtuous and sensible than I am?”

Bai Que: “…”

Actually, the prince was his biological older brother.

Bai Que was afraid of scaring his sensitive, insecure female monarch, so he could only do his best to keep his identity hidden.

Until one day, he heard a group of military females call his monarch “Marshal!”

At the time, Xiuluosi was pregnant with an egg and rubbing his swollen belly. In a cold voice, he said, “Clean up the blood after the assassination. Don’t let my male lord find out. Anyone who disobeys will take fifty strokes of the military cane.”

The two insects parted ways, treating each other with perfect courtesy.

The frail male suddenly stopped panting, straightened his back, charged into the besieged zone, dealt a devastating blow to the alien beast leader, and rescued a busload of presidents along the way;

The useless female insect hefted a sniper rifle, charged toward an elite squad that was nearly wiped out, carved the heart out of an S-rank alien beast with one slash, and casually tore apart three mechs.

They brushed past each other unexpectedly and happened to meet eyes.

Bai Que, his hands covered in blood: “…My monarch?”

Xiuluosi, radiating murderous intent: “…My lord?”

A long list of things to know before reading:

1. Marriage first, love later. The main idea is that you act, so I act too, and we’ll see who blows their cover first -*V*- It’s essentially an everyday, healing romance. 6. My take on the insectoid genre: scorpions, spiders, and so on are also types of insects. Insects don’t mean only bugs, and the tail hook is a tail! It’s nothing else. These are my own worldbuilding details.

7. There are various female and male side characters, both good and bad, and a side couple. The main couple comes first.
