Oh No, I've Ended Up in a Real Battle Royale

Qi He logs off after grinding through his game as usual. But when he wakes up, he finds Lait Yel, the character he adores most in the game, crouched at his bedside. The name above his head glows bright red, impossible to ignore.

They stare at each other. A few seconds later, Lait Yel brings his blade down. A trace of confusion crosses his elegant face as he says, in a voice as cold as ice, "I'm waiting for my cooldown. What are you waiting for?"

Qi He had thought this was some kind of reverse-isekai story and that he was about to get close to his favorite character. "Holy crap, you're actually doing this?!"

Only after narrowly escaping death does Qi He realize that everything connected to the world's most famous game has vanished without a trace, while many of its characters have appeared in the real world. With red names above their heads, they make no effort to hide their hostility.

They have come to kill the [Players].

Much later, Qi He and Lait Yel meet again.

Lait Yel asks, his expression complicated, "Aren't you going to kill me?"

Qi He is silent for a long while. Then he strikes with his blade, looking confused. "I'm waiting for my cooldown. What are you waiting for?"

Lait Yel: "..."

The world changed without a sound.

A game was erased from existence, and its NPCs began appearing in the real world, hunting down the [Players] who still remembered it.

One side wants to live, so the other has to die.

And Qi He, one of the [Players], realizes belatedly:

"Crap, I've ended up in a real battle royale."

*Description captured on 2024.03.01

NPCs vs. Players, a battle between factions.

An ensemble cast. Different characters may have different sexual orientations. Since we're embracing diversity, let's embrace it all. (If we're going for diversity, then I'm going to let loose.)

Characters will die. (It's a battle royale, after all.) This is not a feel-good, everyone-gets-a-happy-ending story.

I probably can't put "battle royale" in the title, so I'll change it later. (Racking my brains...)

Theme: People die when they're killed. Cherish life, starting with yourself.
