After a few drinks at a business dinner, Chu Wantang held Huaixing and called her name softly again and again, her voice tender and restrained, like a lover's murmur.

After that reckless night, Huaixing opened her eyes to find Chu Wantang fully dressed, her gaze cold as frost. “Are you a lesbian?” she asked flatly.

“...No, Sister.” Huaixing's lips were pale as she shook her head.

“Good. Then from now on, we'll each meet the other's physical needs.” Chu Wantang lowered her eyes, her usual warmth returning. Dimples appeared at the corners of her lips as she ruffled Huaixing's hair. “I've looked after you for so long. Don't make things difficult for me, Xiaoxing.”

Their ambiguous relationship continued through many nights. Huaixing didn't make things difficult for Chu Wantang. She said nothing about her feelings and kept playing the role of her younger sister in public.

Until she heard Chu Wantang tell a friend, “My little sister? She's more like a pet. Call her and she comes, shoo her away and she goes.”

By the time Chu Wantang returned from a business trip, her little pet had vanished without a trace.

There was only a bank card on the table.

Later, Huaixing said, “Ms. Chu, all I did was stop loving you. What did I do wrong?”
