Blurb:

A friend was about to leave on a six-month overseas business trip. Before she left, she repeatedly implored Ying Wei, "My girlfriend is gentle and hates asking people for help. Please look after her while I'm gone, and don't let anyone bully her."

Ying Wei smiled warmly and agreed, but inwardly scoffed. She couldn't stand women like Zhang Xiangyi.

In her friend's eyes, Zhang Xiangyi was sweet, well-behaved, quiet, and reserved.

The sort of woman who made people want to cherish her.

But Ying Wei knew how cold-hearted she was beneath that pretty, delicate exterior. After all, she'd seen Zhang Xiangyi's true colors long before her friend got together with her.

Back then, Zhang Xiangyi had been entangled with someone at a bar.

Her expression had been calm and unconcerned, without a trace of guilt. In just a few words, she'd dismissed the other woman's sincere feelings: "You have no money. Why would I be with you? Don't flatter yourself. I never said I wanted to date you. At this point, even talking to you is a waste of my time."

Yet not long after, Ying Wei's friend brought Zhang Xiangyi to their gathering and introduced her as her girlfriend.

And her friend came from a wealthy family. She had plenty of money.

Look after her?

A playful smile curled Ying Wei's lips.

To expose Zhang Xiangyi and keep her hopelessly lovesick friend from being swindled out of every last penny,

she really would have to look after her "well."

But as Ying Wei looked after her, she came to understand her friend, then surpassed her.

She thought, Thank goodness I have plenty of money too.

And could that irritating friend just never come back to the country?
