The laid-back but reliable young lord of the demon clan, Shi Wuyou x the serious, proper, slightly wicked ancient war god of the immortal clan, Hua Yunyi
*
A bit of a master-disciple relationship, leaning toward light comedy. The setting is a peaceful world spanning the four seas and eight wastes. Shi Wuyou is rather mischievous at first and, within limits, acts like a naughty child. She often says things like "your granny" and thinks she's the strongest under heaven. If that bothers you, please don't read.

There's a rumor in the immortal realm that no matter how many times war breaks out, ends, and breaks out again across the four seas and eight wastes over the course of several hundred years, the love star of Hua Yunyi, the immortal clan's veteran war god, will never budge.
The war god herself knows nothing about the rumor, but she certainly lives up to it.
She exercises at dawn, cultivates at noon, and in the evening transforms into her true phoenix form to bask in the sun in the great marsh of the Eastern Wastes. Every day is the same. Though she hasn't fully retired, she's already living like a retiree.
Then one day, Hua Yunyi goes to the demon clan for a drink and brings home a troublesome handful. After that, her peaceful retirement vanishes without a trace.
But teaching that incorrigible demon is no easy task.
At a banquet, the Old Lord casually makes a joke. That night, the little demon sneaks into his home and plucks out his beard.
An immortal hits a little too hard during a fight, and within a few days the wicked little brat returns, smugly carrying the other person's broken sword.
After returning from her tribulation, the little one spends three days in a row challenging the divine beast Xuanwu whenever she passes by. Even if she ends up hurting herself as much as her opponent, she insists on proving who's stronger.
People spread all kinds of stories about her, without caring what the truth is.
But Hua Yunyi cares.
After yet another person she offended during the day gets clubbed over the head that night, Hua Yunyi stops Shi Wuyou as she sneaks back to the palace. While Shi Wuyou looks anxiously on, she takes the bloodstained stick and draws her into her arms.
The red string she stole from the Matchmaker glimmers around her wrist.

The demon clan has a dragon named Shi Wuyou, its young lord, whose favorite pastime is wrecking the house.
She demolishes three halls today, wrecks five courtyards tomorrow. The Demon Lord is in tears, running out of money.
So when Hua Yunyi agrees to take her on and teach her to cultivate her mind, the Demon Lord is ready to fall to his knees and kowtow. But Shi Wuyou simply curls her lip in disdain.
Everyone says she's unruly, but all she wants is to protect the people she cares about in her own way.
When a demon criticizes the Demon Lord, saying that two foxes could never give birth to a black dragon, Shi Wuyou confirms that she really is their biological child, then hangs the critic up and beats him for three days and three nights.
When an immortal criticizes the war god for bringing home such a troublesome handful, saying it proves she's senile, Shi Wuyou behaves herself for three days, then flies into a rage and plucks out every last one of the old man's whiskers.
After learning the truth, Hua Yunyi simply looks at her in silence, for a long time.
Shi Wuyou: "Do whatever you want to me."
But the war god's expression softens. She takes Shi Wuyou's injured fingers in her hands. "Who said I was going to punish you? There are better ways to deal with this."
Shi Wuyou: "...You old fossil."
The war god doesn't deny it. The next day, the people Shi Wuyou has offended line up outside the War God's Hall, begging for forgiveness.
Shi Wuyou looks at the woman standing calmly beside her. "How did you do that? Teach me!"
"Gladly. Call me big sister, and I'll teach you."
"Bonus Scene"
One day
Shi Wuyou: (looking pitiful) "You old fossil, someone hit me. I couldn't beat them."
Hua Yunyi: (glancing up calmly) "Really? Is there anyone even the Demon King can't beat?"
Shi Wuyou: "There is... that big golden dragon..."
Hua Yunyi: (lowering her eyes serenely) This seat can't beat him either.
Shi Wuyou: "You old fossil, are you saying you can't do it?"
Hua Yunyi: (perfectly calm) "That's right. I'm not the one who needs to be able to do it, am I?"
