A Sword from the Start

Ming Weijian transmigrated into a book, becoming a minor villainess with the same name in the melodramatic xianxia romance novel The Lone Sword. Her role was to deliver the spiteful, hateful scenes that broke up the male and female leads and betrayed the protagonist’s group.

The System tried its best to teach her how to follow the plot properly and stay in character.

“Ming Weijian is an orphan with no parents, making a living as a doctor.

When she was young, her childhood sweetheart misunderstood and abandoned her. On her wedding night, the man she loved gouged out her heart and bones to save someone else.

She was originally kind, honest, dedicated to her work, and cheerful. Even if she hadn’t frozen to death in the snow, she still wouldn’t have been capable of the dark turn her story takes later. That’s why you need to take over her body and soul.”

“Her next fateful encounter is, when she is targeted by a demon and nearly killed, the male lead steps in to...”

Ming Weijian interrupted the System: How could an orphan be kind and cheerful?

The System was displeased: What do you want to do, then?

She cleaved the great demon before her in two with one sword, expressionless as she stepped over its remains and headed for the immortal mountain.

Then, in just a few short decades, she cultivated and broke through at an unprecedented pace, slaying demons and monsters until she became the first person in this world to ascend.

“I’m doing things that fit the character, just as you said.”

System: ??

In the original story, when the man she loved wrote to her to express his feelings, he said

“The so-called Lone Sword means that even if I’m all alone, with only a sword in my hand, I’ll still protect you.”

Later, she threw the letter into the fire and burned it.

All living things are insignificant. With my sword-heart, I shall prove the Great Way.

“The Lone Sword should mean that, apart from the sword, there is

nothing else by my side.”
