The Scientific Method of Citywide Self-Rescue

Du Shi Lin comes back from the dead and discovers that he has become the consciousness of a city called Mihua. Fortunately, even though he's now a consciousness, he still has a human body. At least he can still enjoy life.

But before long, the city will fall into decline as a constant stream of murders, robberies, and explosions drives its residents away. As the city's will, Du Shi Lin will meet his own end then, too.

Du Shi Lin: "...I'm alive, but not exactly alive."

Still, life is precious, so Du Shi Lin rolls up his sleeves and starts making the city safer. And becoming Mihua does come with a few perks.

At least he has a whole bunch of other cities' consciousnesses, all calling themselves his "elders," rushing in to help.

To protect their "frail" new fellow city spirit, these ancient and extraordinary cities shower him with love and gifts.

Yokohama: "In my domain, you're the king of supernatural abilities. Every ability user will bow before you."

Fukuoka: "It's dangerous for a kid to go out alone. Here, take this team of assassins."

Hawaii: "I... don't think I can give you a professional team. How about this: I'll teach you every skill you can learn here. Don't underestimate me just because I'm an island. I know all sorts of things!"

Kyoto: "Quick, tell those people that I'm the real heir of nobility! That Tokyo bumpkin with no history should stop trying to steal my thunder!"

Then one day, the residents of Mihua realize that while buildings are exploding elsewhere, serial killers are on the loose, and luxury cruise ships are sinking, their city is completely peaceful. The most exciting news is that the Phantom Thief Kid has sent out another calling card.

The organization's workaholic arrives, only to be reported as soon as he raises his gun: "..."

The FBI arrives, only to be watched by the Public Security Bureau the moment they try to make a move: "..."

The blond Public Security Bureau officer is found by a case before he can even go looking for work: "..."

And the former Public Security Bureau elite has just experienced the miracle of coming back from the dead, only to be assigned to guard the peace from the shadows before he can even take it all in: "..."

Then Yokohama, who once thought Du Shi Lin was a pitiful newborn city spirit and had given him nearly half of its powers, says, "Maybe you could help me out, too."
