The Ultimate Achievement in Picking People Up

At first, I only picked him up because he was a stray dog. A six-foot-tall stray dog, and a very big one at that, with the kind of face that would soon have some rich woman slapping five million into my hands before taking him away.

I thought it would just be a passing whim, over in no time. But I never expected him to be great at housework and an amazing cook. I couldn't resist, so I decided to keep him for a while and see if five million fell from the sky. I never expected things to get so out of hand after that.

Then I also got an orange cat I picked up in the Lairou District, a white cat I found behind an orphanage, and all sorts of little animals they brought along. Luckily, they were all able to support themselves while still young, so we didn't end up as a whole family of miserable strays.

It's just that now I'm really worried the police will come check my household registration.
