I Ran Away After Learning My Husband Was Everyone's Dream Man

When my fiance Shen Huiye's admirer held a gleaming knife to my throat, tears welled in my eyes as I cried out in anguish, "Spare me, beauty! There's someone else in my heart. I was only pretending to love Shen Huiye!"

The admirer looked unconvinced. The knife in her hand didn't budge an inch. "I don't believe a word of it. At the Lantern Festival, you confessed your love to Shen Huiye in front of the whole city, saying you would never marry any man but him, or else you'd remain alone for the rest of your life. Now you deny it. Who would believe you?"

"It's true, it's true! Back then, I was blinded by love. Shen Huiye looks like a refined gentleman, but in reality..."

"In reality, what?"

I lowered my voice and said, "He has body odor."

"?"

"And don't let that title of Jade-Faced Gentleman fool you. He actually wears several bowls' worth of powder. His face is so thick it could be plastered to a wall!"

"...I don't believe you."

"And his feet! He never washes them. When he takes off his socks, flakes of dead skin fly everywhere like snow, and the smell is absolutely awful..."

I rattled on, watching the admirer's expression turn more and more complicated as the knife slipped a little lower. Delighted, I was just about to spill even more secrets when a familiar, chilly male voice sounded ominously behind me:

"Gu Fuxiao, is this how devoted you are to me?"
