How Did I End Up Marrying My Archrival?!

One day, Shen Yi'an woke up to find that he and his nemesis, Chu Jiangyi, had both transmigrated ten years into the future.

The two had still been bickering yesterday, but when they opened their eyes again, they were in bed together.

There was even a photo of them kissing passionately on the bedside table.

Staring at Chu Jiangyi's eight-pack abs, Shen Yi'an slowly closed his eyes. An illusion. It had to be an illusion.

Shen Yi'an immediately decided to get a divorce and clear his head, only to learn that they had previously signed up for a marriage-themed reality show.

The show used a brand-new Werewolf-style format. The ultimate winner would be whoever managed to keep their marriage a secret until the end, and would receive a huge cash prize.

Shen Yi'an's eyes lit up. "Let's not get divorced yet. If we keep things as they are, we're guaranteed to win!"

What he hadn't expected was...

As soon as the reality show began airing, he and Chu Jiangyi instantly attracted plenty of shippers thanks to their stunning looks.

On the show:

He and Chu Jiangyi argued.

The viewers: "See? You need good looks for a ship. Even their everyday bickering is so sweet."

He and Chu Jiangyi fought.

The viewers: "Holy crap, they're fighting on the bed! Are we really allowed to watch this for free?"

Even when he and Chu Jiangyi looked each other in the eye, people would say their gazes were practically dripping with chemistry, calling them the ultimate ship and the gods of romantic vibes.

Shen Yi'an: ???

Eventually, the two of them gave up trying. They stopped fighting and stopped talking about divorce, treating the whole thing as a publicly funded vacation and enjoying themselves.

After the show ended,

Shen Yi'an was horrified to discover that Chu Jiangyi seemed to really like him.

And he... seemed to have gotten used to living together with Chu Jiangyi.

Shen Yi'an lounged on the bed, watching the handsome figure quietly bustle about, his eyes crinkling with a smile.

--Suddenly, waking up married to him didn't seem so bad.

--

One day,

Shen Yi'an rubbed his aching lower back as he looked at the messy floor and Chu Jiangyi's thoroughly satisfied expression. He couldn't help silently thinking:

Back when they fought,

Chu Jiangyi really had held back.

--

"I've heard that eighteen-year-old Chu Jiangyi had no specific idea of what his future would look like, but twenty-eight-year-old Chu Jiangyi helped him realize every dream he'd ever had for it."

-- From Shen Yi'an's diary.
