To boost his comprehensive assessment score and win a national scholarship, Lin Qi'an and his roommates took an unconventional route and entered a national competition: a talent show.
At the preliminary round, their performance of "My Motherland Is So Beautiful" stunned the entire audience.
The mentor was shocked. "What made you sing with such sincerity and emotion?"
Lin Qi'an: "Our longing for course credits."
The mentor refused to give up. "What made you want to stand on this stage?"
Lin Qi'an: "A national competition is worth three points."
Mentor: "..."
Lin Qi'an's group got through the preliminaries thanks to their wonderfully unhinged energy. They planned to slack off as soon as they had their course credits, but then they ran into their academic rival, genius Chu Xichuan, who had made it through with his roommates too.
When hometown friends meet, the competition gets so fierce it makes your heart race.
The two of them and their roommates fought tooth and nail for course credits, and somehow both made it all the way to the end.
Lin Qi'an: "It's time to show everyone what real college students are like."
And so, people discovered that...
While others begged for appearances and endorsements, they begged for exam review materials.
While others worked the system, they competed over GPA and assessment scores.
While others livestreamed to sell products, they livestreamed their classes.
Their excuse was always the same: finals.
Netizens: They're so unhinged, so wholesome and genuine. We love them!

In an age ruled by capital, debut spots were decided in advance and every public persona was the same. Everyone thought Chinese entertainment was finished.
Until a group of top students came along.
Everyone would remember that night forever.
The people's choice beat the money, and college students stormed Chinese entertainment for the sake of course credits.
It was a shame that the bitter rivalry between the two most popular contestants, Lin Qi'an and Chu Xichuan, left so many fans heartbroken.
Until later.
Those hoping for a historic reconciliation between them got a public relationship announcement video from Chu Xichuan.
In the video, Lin Qi'an's beautiful eyes were full of smiles. "I heard we became friends."
"Let me clarify: we're boyfriends."
Who could have guessed that the crack ship everyone used to obsess over would actually become real?
The couple's fans went completely wild.
--It doesn't matter if you two look like you don't get along. What matters is how well you get along in bed!
--Please, just do it for the course credits and get married already!
