The Shopper's Language Teacher (Korean Dramas)

The Hell Is Other People, A Killer's Shopping List, and Bad and Crazy

In 1998, Li Enxi left Shanghai.

She returned to Seoul to prepare for further studies.

On her first day back, she met a neighbor who clung to her, wanting her to teach him Chinese.

What was his name again?

Oh, Jung Jinwan!

From the moment that name came into her life, it clung to her for over twenty years.

It stayed on her mind, and even when she was dating Seo Mun-gu,

she would unconsciously stare at his face and call him Jinwan.

Unfortunately, Jung Jinwan disappeared for several years.

When he came back, he was like an abandoned puppy,

hugging her and saying,

"Noona, I don't have a home anymore."

Reader's Guide

1. The female lead is Korean, but she grew up in Shanghai and is very fluent in Chinese.

2. You can tell, right? Jung Jinwan and the female lead have a younger-man-older-woman relationship. Then Jinwan disappears, and she dates Seo Mun-gu. My heart aches for our dentist. His girlfriend treats him like a substitute.

3. This is a crossover between three dramas. I was so taken with this premise that I just had to write it.

4. This is fanfiction. The dramas' values do not reflect the author's real-life values. If you love the Messenger, check out The Sea God Who Fell Out of a Comic next door. Imagined casting: the Messenger and the Bride.

I write imagined casting because I studied Korean creative writing for novels and scripts in Korea. My studies and certain parts of the industry allow me to write imagined casting.
