The Top Donor Saving a Fallen Beauty Is a Total Straight Man

A livestream anthology about streamers and their top supporters.

Story One:

Su Yu is a high school senior short on money.

When he hears that someone he dislikes made money online as a suggestive streamer, he scoffs at them out loud, but can't help thinking about livestreaming himself.

But he's too shy to show his face. He wants to earn money, but can't bring himself to go that far. For the first few days of streaming, he keeps his face off camera and only shows his body in an oversized boyfriend-style shirt.

After a few days, he hasn't earned much, but his inbox is full of creepy messages.

Su Yu is about to give up when a comment floats across the screen.

[Shen Li: Is the streamer a student? Students should focus on studying instead of doing this kind of thing.]

Figuring he might as well quit anyway, Su Yu throws caution to the wind. "The streamer is a student, but the streamer needs money. This is the only way to earn it."

[Shen Li: If I send you gifts, will you dress properly and focus on studying?]

Who wouldn't want to earn money the respectable way?

Su Yu answers without hesitation, "Sure. Send me a Carnival, and I'll show you how hard I study."

A few seconds later.

A scrolling banner appears at the top of Su Yu's stream: "Shen Li sent a Carnival to Xiao Su Is Feeling Down Again's livestream!"

With Shen Li's support as his top donor, Su Yu no longer has to worry about money. He studies hard and gets into a top-tier 985 university.

But as time goes by, Su Yu soon has a new problem.

He falls in love with his top donor, Shen Li, a die-hard straight man.

Shen Li is an honest man who hauls bricks at construction sites.

One day, a coworker catches him watching a livestream while munching on a steamed bun. Worried that he'll be scammed out of his money and his heart, the coworker can't help warning him, "Streamers are all fake. The moment you stop sending gifts, their feelings disappear. Don't get carried away and blow your hard-earned money!"

Shen Li smiles. "That won't happen. I know what I'm doing. The streamer I watch is a boy. He's a good student, but his family is poor. He's a high school senior, and this is a critical time for him. I send a few little gifts to help with his living expenses. That's all."

To convince his coworker, Shen Li even turns his phone around to show him the screen, looking proud.

"Look how seriously he's doing his homework."

His coworker leans over and sees a fair-skinned, handsome boy on the screen. He nods, but afterward can't help feeling that something about it is a little strange.

Theme: Live well, and never give up.
