I've Got You [Mystery]

Lately, Sang Wu has been sleeping fitfully.

There is always a conversation in her dreams.

“Have you noticed a secret?”

“What secret?”

“Time in this world is moving faster.”

The speaker’s voice is familiar, but she cannot remember where she has heard it.

Every night, she sleepwalks and types a string of numbers on her computer.

[0903, 07, 85]

After three days of deciphering them,

Sang Wu finally finds the answer.

0903 is a date,

and 0785 is a location.

A place called [Songtao Town].

She takes a train north, crossing the border.

Songtao Town lies near the site of a nuclear leak fifty years ago. It has since been abandoned.

Sang Wu stays at the guesthouse closest to the town.

Its owner is a handsome young man of Chinese and Russian heritage named Lu Lans.

On September 3,

Lu Lans and Sang Wu, who have never met before, enter Songtao Town together.

The abandoned steel forest and enormous engines loom like terrifying giants.

Stars shimmer in the night, and the wind whispers like someone muttering in their sleep.

On the deserted streets,

Sang Wu hears someone singing,

“Wutong flowers bloom, the stars blink, take me home, take me home. Close your eyes, open your eyes, I found you... I found you!”

Dancing little figures, burning flames, twisted shadows.

Lu Lans runs with Sang Wu until the black shadows catch up with them.

“Good girl, you have to hide. Don’t let anyone find you.”

“Who will find me?”

“You.”

--

Only later does Sang Wu learn

that Lu Lans took over the guesthouse in August,

certain that she would show up.

Because this is the [past] that has already happened, and this is their [37th] meeting...
