From the Start, Everyone’s a Villain

Tongfang Lingyu was completely, utterly bewildered.

What was going on?? One second he was happily playing claw machines at an arcade, and the next he was suddenly on a train going who knew where?? And why was there a pair of silver handcuffs on his wrists??

And all these people around him looked dangerous, too!

What do you mean you only copied a portrait of Natsume Soseki? That sounds a lot like counterfeiting money!

What do you mean you brought every level of investor a handsome return? This is totally a Ponzi scheme!

What do you mean it only took you five minutes to drive from the foot of the mountain to the top? Forget speeding. How does a high schooler even have a driver's license?

"What about you?"

When his companions noticed that Tongfang Lingyu had been quiet for a while, they "kindly" asked him.

"I..." Tongfang Lingyu's mind raced. "I take all the plushies I want, then sell them to people who need them."

Everyone: "Oh, so you got arrested for kidnapping."

Huh? Could what he said really be interpreted that way?

Tongfang Lingyu's first thought when he saw the mascot headmaster was actually: Looks like it could sell.

"Click-clack... rolling the dice..."

Huh? Did something just speak?

"D100 = 99, critical failure! Your appraisal of the mascot headmaster is: It doesn't seem worth much, but it's so cute, I really want one~"

Tongfang Lingyu was stunned. He looked at the half-black, half-white plushie a couple more times. It seemed like the kind of thing that could sit in a claw machine for a year or two without anyone asking for it.

And then Tongfang Lingyu heard himself say, "Don't you think this little guy is actually pretty cute?~"

...Help! He didn't want this bunch of weirdos turning into strange people!
