Foreign Reporter: Pika-sensei, I hear you're a huge Batman fan. Now that many superheroes, including Batman, have transmigrated into the real world, how do you feel?
Unlucky Protagonist: Mr. Kent, I was such an idiot. I shouldn't have cosplayed Batman at the convention.
Reporter: Call me Clark. Hm? Your cosplay gear is incredibly convincing. If not for, ahem, I would've thought it was the real thing.
Protagonist, in tears: I was such an idiot, really. I knew this terrified Red Hood, whose fans are always begging to feel his pecs, had an incredibly accurate costume. I just didn't realize he was the real deal. At noon today, I walked right up to him and confidently said hello. "Hey, Jason, can I feel them too?"
He usually listens to me. I mean, he doesn't listen to a word I say. Not only did he refuse to let me feel his pecs, he grabbed the comic I drew, "A Day's Meals in the Wayne Household," snuck into my house in the middle of the night, and nearly beat me up... Oh, he said that if the fried chicken I'd treated him to back then hadn't been so good, he really would have beaten me up.
"Hm? When did I ever treat him to fried chicken? Wait, Clark, your name sounds a lot like Superman's... I get it. Your parents are huge Superman fans!"
The protagonist is a professional illustrator who can lift a truck with one hand. He's an ordinary, fragile shut-in who works out obsessively but can't get the muscles he wants. He has a happy family, a comfortable life, and an exceptionally stable mental state, unless he meets a living Batman.
Batman really shows up: "You?"
Protagonist: "You!!!" (shocked) (faints) (ascends peacefully)
That night, the esteemed Batman successfully takes up residence in a fan's home, falling "peacefully" asleep under the gaze of a room full of life-size figurines of himself.
Later, the protagonist realizes he'd actually met them all long ago: the foreign kid who stole his hamburger in elementary school and got caught, then was forced to accept a bucket of fried chicken, was Red Hood; the foreign friend who climbed the highest peak with him at night in high school, hit it off with him, then gave him a fake phone number to shake him off, was Batman; and the kindhearted international student who helped him lift a car after an accident in college was Superman...
