Case Study of a Ruined Comic Protagonist

My new novel is here! If you’re interested, come take a look! Nonhuman characters + a touch of Lovecraftian horror + cyberpunk: What Do I Do If I Get Stuck in a Human Tank?

One-sentence blurb: This is probably a story about a reborn savior trying to recruit his archenemy to his side, only to be recruited in turn by his enemy and fall completely under his spell. Also known as A Guide to Revolution in Another World.

In this fantasy world of gods and magic, the Scarlet Tyrant beheaded the old king, drenched the royal court in blood, then launched an apocalyptic war, vowing to slaughter every believer in the world. Yet he was nothing more than an ordinary man.

His ambition and desires were limitless. Countless corpses and rivers of blood lay at his feet. He manipulated everything, beguiled everyone, and deceived them all.

He even arrogantly tried to kill the world’s protagonist, the true Chosen of the Gods. In the end, the Chosen One cut off his head, and his companions and followers burned him to ashes. He died without a body to bury.

Reborn at the beginning of the comic, the male lead gazed at his archenemy’s younger self, a pale, frail young man who looked close to death. After a moment’s silence, he slowly gave him a gentle smile.

Hello, my moon, the moon I spent my whole life chasing and snapping at in vain, like a hound on the ground.

After finally passing the civil-service exams in another world, Nova Brody had become a theology professor with meager pay but a steady job. He thought he could at last enjoy a comfortable life, teaching students, conducting research, and holding on to his iron rice bowl.

Then some guy claiming to be the male lead kicked over his iron rice bowl and told him that the world was actually a Western fantasy comic, and that he was its final antagonist, the savior’s archenemy.

The professor, always timid and socially anxious: Wait, are you sure you mean me?

The Silver Iris Empire, a silver radiance blossoming over suffering and flesh. The clergy are hypocrites, the king is absurd, the nobles live in decadent luxury, and the scholars look out for themselves. Only the anguished cries of commoners and slaves are about to set the tottering firmament ablaze. Chosen of the Gods, keep up your courage to resist. Your story is about to begin.

Gentle but unhinged, motherly ghost-man version of the male lead, savior top × machine-like, supremely intelligent member of the plotters, final villain bottom

Please note:

1. This is not a traditional sword-and-sorcery fantasy.

2. The characters’ views and values do not represent the author’s.

3. The bottom has pathological mental impairments, and the top isn’t normal either.

4. Original settings, references, parodies, adolescent edginess, going off the rails, and political talk are all included. Reasonable, friendly comments are welcome. If this isn’t for you, please don’t read.

5. The foolish author signed a contract on November 28 and will begin posting paid chapters on November 30. All chapters before then are free. If you came here after seeing a recommendation that said it was free, please don’t be upset!
