When Game NPCs Come to Life in the Wasteland

In a wasteland world where global resources are desperately scarce and most of the land is deeply polluted, the population is so dense that most people have no choice but to hole up in sleep pods. They have to conduct all social activities on the virtual network.

The hyper-realistic virtual game First World, with a realism rating of 99.99%, becomes their second home.

After the latest epic expansion for First World, Gods Descend from the Heavens, finished loading, a female statue holding the radiance of the sun silently opened her eyes inside a ruined temple in the game.

This story is also known as This NPC Isn't Right, Raising the Main God, Wasteland Salvation Plan, Countdown to the Destruction of Blue Star, and so on.

The gods in the game are awakened as saviors, leading their NPC followers into the real world.

And as it happens, the people of this wasteland world, where order and morals have collapsed, need faith to support their crumbling Truman Show of a world.

Maybe it's the reverse of the Fourth Calamity genre?

In the early part, the protagonist builds a following in a virtual game. Later, she leads her followers to save the world.

Please note:

1. Everyone's affection is one-sided. The goddess has devoted fans everywhere, and fanatical believers are as common as dogs.

2. Most of the game setting is my own invention, with a few references to World of Warcraft and Dungeon Fighter Online.

Premise: Never bow to fate.
