[My dears, please add my upcoming story Love Spreads to your collection! A truly “scheming” Army major x a flirtatious “horny” girl. Blurb below.]
[Second chance after a breakup - reunion at the start]
On the surface: gentle, aloof dancer x clingy, unhinged business tycoon
In reality: flirtatious baiter x a heart full of wounds
Song Qingman is a young classical dancer who shot to fame at home and abroad with her performance of “Waving Away the Breeze.” Her shows are often sold out.
People come not only to see her dance, but also for her looks. Everyone who’s seen Song Qingman is captivated by her cool, aloof beauty. The tiny mole on the tip of her nose seems almost magical, making people want to get a closer look.
Someone trying to curry favor with Fu Siheng specially sent him a ticket to one of Song Qingman’s performances. He didn’t even look at it before tossing it straight into the trash.
On the night of Song Qingman’s performance, Fu Siheng drank himself completely drunk. He pushed past the crowd, eyes fixed on the broadcast on the screen as the young woman danced with vibrant grace.
Fu Siheng stroked Song Qingman’s face through the screen, whispering over and over, “Manman, why haven’t you come back yet?”
-
Song Qingman takes a job filming an underwater dance. She isn’t a strong swimmer, and halfway through the recording, her leg cramps. She struggles in the water, sinking deeper and deeper.
In the chaos, everyone sees someone plunge into the water, then carry Song Qingman back to shore in a tight embrace.
The man kneels with a cold expression, rubbing Song Qingman’s calf over and over.
Someone nearby notices how unusually concerned Fu Siheng is about Song Qingman and asks what their relationship is. Song Qingman deliberately distances herself from him: “Mr. Fu is always so helpful.”
Fu Siheng’s hands pause. His words are full of suggestive meaning:
“I’m not this helpful to just anyone.”
-
Word is spreading through the business world that Fu Siheng, the new head of the Fu family, is cold-blooded and ruthless. He even drove his own elder brother to the brink. He’s made countless enemies in business, too. Whatever he wants, he gets. When he loses it, he doesn’t even care if he lives or dies. A few years ago, someone broke one of his ribs, and he didn’t utter a single word of pain.
Until someone sees Song Qingman at Fu Siheng’s bedside, gently wiping his face.
The man who never smiles furrows his brows, eyes full of grievance. “Manman, it hurts.”

Also known as: I Went on a Blind Date with My Ex-Boyfriend’s Childhood Friend After We Broke Up
Qin Shu once met her boyfriend’s childhood friend at a dinner party. All she knew was that the friend had come back on leave and had already earned plenty of military honors at a young age. What left the deepest impression on Qin Shu was that he was so handsome he seemed to belong to another league, and so aloof that he said only two or three words the entire evening.
Later, Qin Shu catches her boyfriend cheating and promptly breaks up with him. Her best friend is afraid she’ll never get over it and vows to introduce her to the perfect new man so she can forget her old love.
That very evening, Qin Shu receives a message from her best friend, who sets her up with a supposedly flawless, high-quality man whose job is just a little unusual.
Out of politeness, Qin Shu accepts his friend request, intending to go through the motions. But after a few conversations, she finds herself liking him more and more.
One day, he suddenly sends her a video call. Nervous, Qin Shu finally presses answer. The man on screen is shirtless, water trickling down the sharply defined planes of his abs, still steaming from his shower.
Qin Shu quietly swallows.
“Sorry, I hit the wrong button,” comes his deep voice. The camera shifts, moving upward until the man’s face appears before her.
Qin Shu freezes, then quietly swallows again.
After a long pause, she finally asks, “Have we met before?”
Jiang Muye looks at the camera, his gaze dark and his voice tinged with hurt. “So you don’t remember me.”
Qin Shu: ???
Wait, something’s not right. Is my blind date my ex-boyfriend’s childhood friend?
-
After they get together, Qin Shu realizes Jiang Muye’s serious, proper demeanor is all an act. He’s an expert at tricking her. Just when Qin Shu is about to reach her limit, he stops and rubs against her cheek, making her repeat embarrassing sweet talk over and over. Only when she whimpers and begs does he give her everything she wants.
There’s a rumor in the family housing compound. Qin Shu didn’t believe it at first, but before their leave is even halfway over, she can’t take it anymore.
Jiang Muye returns with food while Qin Shu is busy packing. He locks the door behind him and sets the food on the table. “Your leave isn’t over yet.”
Qin Shu snorts without turning around. “My body can’t take it.”
Jiang Muye chuckles. “Who was it who said she’d wear me out before coming here?”
Qin Shu: ...
I overestimated myself and underestimated you.
When Qin Shu says nothing, Jiang Muye pulls off his training shirt with one hand, draws the sulking woman to him, and changes his tone.
“Stay a few more days.”
Qin Shu’s resolve melts away. Jiang Muye’s handsome-man routine works every time.
That night, Qin Shu regrets her impulsive decision earlier in the day all over again. And Jiang Muye deliberately pauses to remind her, “You haven’t moved at all. I’m the one doing all the work.”
-
A friend asks Qin Shu how she managed to stick it out and marry a boyfriend who was practically absent from her life.
Qin Shu jokes, “His face.”
Her friend asks, “Is it that simple?”
Qin Shu adds, “And his body.”
That night, the two video chat. Qin Shu looks at Jiang Muye’s injured right hand, fighting back tears. The one who’s hurt gently comforts her through the screen. “It’s okay. It really doesn’t hurt.”
Jiang Muye says, “This is my duty, and my faith. But, Shushu, you are my world.”
Qin Shu never finished answering the question from earlier that day.
What matters more than anything in helping them stay together is Jiang Muye’s wholehearted love.
