Minazuki Ren was "cursed by the world."

Ever since he was forced to take on a destiny that was never meant to be his, passed down by his adoptive father, he knew that after turning eighteen, his life would no longer belong to him.

So Minazuki Ren made himself a bucket list of things to do before he turned eighteen.

Even though he knew it was pointless.

But the day after he tossed that bucket list into the trash, he met a transfer student named Geto.

Before long, the two of them worked together to check one item off the list: fall in love.

Geto had cursed energy. In a way, he was like Ren: an oddity in ordinary human society.

Before their relationship began, Minazuki Ren had already made a plan. He would find a chance to help Geto enter the world of jujutsu sorcery and find people like himself. Then, before his own fate caught up with him, Ren would tell him everything and quietly leave.

That way, they would be even.

In the first year of their relationship, after the brief honeymoon period, Ren helped Geto get into Tokyo Metropolitan Jujutsu Technical High School. They only saw each other twice during the holidays, but they remained close, even as they each accumulated more and more weighty secrets.

In the second year, Minazuki Ren skipped class with his ex-boyfriend and mingled with the crowd to watch the summer fireworks. That was when he first met Geto's classmates.

In the third year of their relationship, they were only in touch once a month. They broke up.

Half a year after the breakup, Minazuki Ren opened his front door and saw his long-unseen ex-boyfriend. The cursed spirit under Geto's control stirred restlessly above his head.

Ten years after their breakup, his ex-boyfriend died.

At the graveside, Minazuki Ren saw him again.

He decided to atone alongside him.

Reader's Guide:

1. Happy ending. It shouldn't be too angsty. There's no groveling arc, and this is an unconventional second-chance romance.

2. The protagonist's abilities and shop setup are inspired by xxxHOLiC. You don't need to have read it to enjoy this story. The general plot is Minazuki Ren doing business with his ex-boyfriend's soul, Geto, while also reforming the jujutsu world.

3. The Geto in this story really did bad things and got killed for them. The whole story is about the two of them saving each other, and they're also on a journey to help Geto atone.

4. This is my first time writing a story with such a large focus on romance, so please be kind and share your feedback or2

5. Geto isn't really a scumbag, and Ren isn't pathetic. I'm not deliberately piling on melodrama. There are reasons for everything they do or feel or2 (Geto never truly intended to attack in the end. You can understand it as him going □ crazy and not thinking straight.)

6. Ren's a little robotic for a reason. I think this story has a do-it-yourself romance hero who wins himself over, and a somewhat emotionally flat, robotic heroine. If they're out of character, blame me. It's all my fault or2
