Core tropes: Forceful possession + running away while pregnant.
Synopsis: A Xian is a skinny girl sold from Yangzhou to the capital. She is lucky enough to enter the Marquis's residence and become a maid in the heir's courtyard.
Looking at her monthly salary of five hundred coins, she turns her attention to the refined, noble man whom everyone praises for his purity and virtue.
A Xian knows she's as beautiful as a rosy glow reflected on jade, with a face of captivating, peerless beauty. Especially when she gives someone a sidelong look through her misty eyes, she can make their knees weak and their head spin.
Surely seducing that cold, celibate man won't be difficult.
After working hard, she finally becomes his personal maid.
But A Xian still isn't satisfied. She pushes her luck and seduces him again, successfully becoming his bedchamber maid.
At last, she has saved enough money. While he's away, she openly pays the steward to buy back her contract, then leaves the capital with the child in her belly...

Pei Qingji has never been one to lose himself in romantic entanglements, and A Xian is the only maid by his side. Later, he realizes by chance that she seems to love him with all her heart.
Although A Xian is only a bedchamber maid, well, it wouldn't be out of the question to make her his legal wife.
But one day, he returns from a trip to find the courtyard empty.
Not only is she gone, but all the valuable little trinkets he gave her while they were tangled together are gone too.
The usually cold, handsome young man furrows his brow slightly. Rolling the snow-white bodhi beads around his wrist between his fingers, he lowers his eyes and falls into thought.
Only after a long while does he understand.
His little bedchamber maid has run away.
Suddenly, the bodhi beads snap between the young man's fingers, scattering in every direction like snow.
No one has ever gotten away unscathed after provoking him.
One-line synopsis: [All she wants is to get her contract back, take her money, and go enjoy herself. She doesn't want to be his wife, but he clings to her like a mad dog and won't let go.]
