I Still Love You After Returning to the Past [Interstellar]

[My take on interstellar fiction and mecha]

At the age of twenty-six, Xie Zhibai won the Divine Craft Award, the highest achievement a mecha engineer could receive.

As she walked the red carpet, she wasn’t thinking about the highest honor. She was thinking that this was a place the proud, arrogant Li Yuran had never reached.

The noise outside was endless, and reporters’ questions rose like a rolling tide.

Amid the clamor, Xie Zhibai easily picked out the name engraved in her heart.

Someone asked, “Your technique for disassembling parts looks a lot like the ‘Hand of God,’ Li Yuran’s. Did you know her?”

Xie Zhibai replied coolly, “I don’t know her.”

How could she possibly deserve to know Li Yuran?

Li Yuran died on the day Xie Zhibai won the Divine Craft Award.

Xie Zhibai became the youngest Divine Craft mecha engineer in the interstellar world.

Meanwhile, disgraced by one misfortune after another, Li Yuran was already dragging her sick body through the chaotic streets, scraping by like a rat in a gutter.

At the end of her life, she saw Xie Zhibai deny knowing her without hesitation when a reporter mentioned her.

When she woke again, she had returned to that day three years earlier.

Back then, she had achieved fame and success, and was at the height of her confidence.

Torrential rain fell outside. The words “I don’t know her” from her previous life flashed through her mind. She dabbed at the tears in the corners of her eyes, grabbed an umbrella, and rushed out.

Xie Zhibai was curled up on a street corner, soaked to the skin. She was more wretched and desperate than Li Yuran had ever seen her afterward.

In the rain, she reached out a hand, trying to grasp a sliver of hope. “Save me.”

Li Yuran nodded. “All right.”

No matter how many times I get another chance, I’ll bring you home.

Theme: Live life with hope, remember the past, and be true to the future.
