[Western Crossover] An Atypical Robin-in-Training

After dying, he transmigrates into the body of a young soldier on a battlefield.

Lorian looks at the gun in his hand and listens to the birdlike chatter around him, with more syllables than gunshots. He is utterly bewildered.

Since he's here, he might as well try to survive.

The problem is, he can't understand the language, can't use a gun, and his daily assignment is still to charge into minefields.

The pressure to survive is through the roof. Lorian decides this can't go on.

Luckily, someone is willing to help.

In his dreams.

Facing the short, dark-skinned man who's all swagger and fury, Lorian is at a loss for words. Just as he's about to politely decline, the little guy challenges him to a fight (and beats the tar out of him).

The little guy: #￥%&^@…!

Lorian: What the hell is he saying now...

The little guy: Wimp. (Perfectly enunciated Chinese.)

Lorian: ...!!!!

As it turns out, communication is very important.

Once they reach an understanding, combat training and language lessons are added to the schedule.

Just as resignation seems within reach, someone beats the heartless boss to the punch and blows his head off.

The new boss is a good guy. As soon as he takes over, he leads the team out of the war zone and offers generous compensation, strict training assignments with no risk of death... and even the occasional friendly chat.

Looking at the boss's cat-shaped helmet, Lorian thinks: Maybe... maybe I'll stay a few more days?

But some time later,

the team is assembled, and the boss hands out a photo of their final target.

Lorian stares at the dark figure in the photo, lost in thought.

That night.

Lorian: D, does your dad have any weaknesses?

D: ?
