Blurb:
Camels are called the ships of the desert, and they like eating cacti.
In the deserts of the northwest, a desert plant called camelthorn is their favorite.
To Luo Pingchuan, Hu Yuzhou was like a camelthorn.
One prick, and it stung and itched, leaving an impression for life.
But he'd rather have his mouth full of thorns than let her go.
2.
Hu Yuzhou went to a class reunion. Her ex-boyfriend was there and publicly begged her to get back together.
Before she could say anything, Luo Pingchuan, who had been hiding somewhere, dragged her out of the wolf's den with a dark expression.
"Hahahaha, Luo Pingchuan, you're so saucy!"
"Hey, why are you glaring at me? You taught me that in Xinjiang dialect, 'saucy' means awesome!"
In the hallway, Hu Yuzhou leaned against Luo Pingchuan's arm, tilting her head as she teased him and giggled.
Later, in bed.
Luo Pingchuan held a grudge and lit a cigarette afterward. "You're so saucy."
Hu Yuzhou saw stars. Her throat was hoarse as she scolded him. "You're a pervert!"
3.
Hu Yuzhou had a rebellious, carefree younger sister, while Luo Pingchuan had a free-spirited, swaggering nephew.
The four of them crossed paths in the northwest, where they came face to face.
In Xinjiang dialect, "saucy" means "awesome." It's a dialect compliment, not an insult.
[A road-trip story, journey through Xinjiang]
I've wanted to write this story for five or six years. Recently, I suddenly came up with a more suitable title. I looked over the outline I'd written before and got so excited that I really wanted to write it.
