"Look, You Cheng sent this to me." Chen Yicheng held up a red bean and waved it in front of him.
The other person didn't even raise his head, busy playing a rhythm game on his iPad.
His long fingers flew across the screen, his expression focused.
"What was the red bean supposed to symbolize again?" she asked.
At the sound of her voice, he missed several notes in the game.
His hand paused, but he still ignored her.
Chen Yicheng was bored. She tilted her head and leaned against his chest, reaching out to mess up the screen.
"Don't mess around," he stopped her.
"Hmph."
Chen Yicheng peeled open the pod and held a sea-heart bean up to the sunlight, examining it.
"Hey, what do you think You Cheng means by sending me this? Is he still mad at me?"
The music stopped abruptly. He suddenly lost patience, pushed her fluffy head away, and stood up from the grass.
"I'm leaving."
Chen Yicheng murmured an absent-minded "Mm-hm," tossed the bean aside, and held out her hand to him.
"Help me up."
He clicked his tongue and glanced back at her through half-lidded eyes, looking annoyed.
"You're so slow on the uptake." At least she was slow on the uptake.
