The completed stories in my collection are ready to read. My writing is only so-so, so I hope you won't mind.
The first story in my collection will be my next one.
Synopsis:
Six years ago, the demon race invaded, and humanity won a costly victory.
The eldest disciple of Tianxuan Sect colluded with demons, slaughtered two cities, framed others, and killed his family and friends.
Hua Miao and his junior disciple Chi Yu became sworn enemies, and after the immortal sects captured Hua Miao, he was subjected to endless punishment.
Former lovers went from loving each other deeply to hating each other bitterly.
His junior disciple's opinion of him quickly went from wholehearted devotion to "Liar!" "Get your hands off me. Don't touch me." "Don't look at me with that disgusting expression." "I don't believe you."
Six years later, the demon king's remnant forces reemerged. By a twist of fate, the world's memories of what happened six years ago were altered once again.
And then...
He died. They say the waves behind drive on those before, and at last this old wave was finally smashed onto the shore.
Everyone said he had tried to have it both ways, gone mad from cultivating, and ended up with nothing. He just smiled and said nothing.
There was too much history between them to tell outsiders.
Young and reckless, he had wanted to hold on to both the world and one person.
But how could anyone have both fish and bear's paw?
Still, he never expected that after he died, things would start to go wrong.
When he opened his eyes again, he heard that his junior disciple had gone mad, scouring the world for someone who could gather his scattered soul. The people who once called him a disgrace had changed their tune, too.
Chi Yu couldn't take his eyes off him. "Senior Brother, Senior Brother." Every moment, he looked like a pitiful puppy.
Reincarnated and amnesiac, Hua Miao was bewildered. "Why does this immortal always cling to me?"
No matter. He'd take him in as a minion and enjoy himself for a while.
But when Hua Miao later recovered his memories, he was overwhelmed with shock and confusion.
He'd been complaining that the immortal in the storybook was a lunatic who raised an ungrateful wretch who killed him, only to discover that he was that unfortunate immortal himself?
But this immortal was awfully sly.
While trying to win his beloved back, Chi Yu would say, "Or do you like wolves? I can let you touch my tail."
Still amnesiac after reincarnation, Hua Miao felt the fluffy thing in his hand. "So sly, so wicked, so adorable."
The pitiful man played up his suffering. "Would you? It's all I have left."
The hotheaded youth, in a moment of passion, replied, "Fine, you shameless little enchantress."
Inside, he was resisting, but his words and actions told another story.
Reading Guide:
1. The story opens in the past life. The memories are sweet, while the past life is angsty, with a mix of heartbreak and sweetness. The reincarnation arc is a dramatic battlefield, and the next life brings the ending.
2. There may be misunderstandings that aren't explained, a groveling chase after a lover, a would-be scheming green tea who doesn't quite pull it off, and all kinds of infuriating antics. Read with caution if those bother you. (Then, with hands clasped, I beg you once more to add this to your favorites.)
3. The protagonists aren't perfect. Sometimes they're both pretty awful.
Theme: Follow your heart, but think twice before acting.
