The Popular Beta's Childhood Friend [OB]

ABO setting, an Omega/ Beta pairing, childhood friends and best buddies

A quiet Omega who is very good at acting pitiful, a scheming charmer who tops x A sharp-tongued but well-behaved Beta who thinks he's an ordinary guy but is actually irresistible to everyone, the bottom

The male lead is an adorable Beta with an Alpha childhood friend who loves showing off. They get along like a house on fire, going to school, getting into fights, and hitting on Omegas together.

Until one day, the male lead discovers that he's a supporting character in a harem novel, and the protagonist is his show-off friend.

Next, his friend will undergo a second differentiation into an Omega and enter a Mary Sue plot where powerful figures from all sides compete for him and shower him with affection!

Hahahahaha, look who's having a hard time now!

Yes, there's no sympathy or concern, just schadenfreude. That's their touching brotherly bond, hahaha.

Male lead:

If you turn into an O, don't panic. Let your buddy have some fun first!

His friend lowers his eyes: Sure.

Male lead: ...Hey, cut it out!

But later, the male lead realizes that his childhood friend is starting to act differently, always coming over looking pitiful and cuddling up to him.

It's nothing strange. Omegas are just like that.

So, with the principle of taking care of Omegas in mind, the male lead caters to his friend in every way.

When his friend is in a bad mood, he comforts him;

When his friend feels awful during differentiation, he holds him;

When his friend is harassed by Alphas, he goes and beats the crap out of them.

He can't smell pheromones, but he knows his good buddy would never screw him over.

Until his friend lures him into bed during a heat, and the Beta male lead finally realizes something is a little off:

Wait, aren't you Omegas supposed to be able to top too???

Later, when those Alphas come knocking, the male lead discovers they weren't pursuing his friend at all?

The Alphas curse him out:

You used your Omega and childhood friend status to trick him! That's cheating, you shameless bastard!

That day, the male lead watches the Omega he's been protecting effortlessly take down three Alphas, and finally remembers who used to win their fights five against one.
