My Little Buddy Is Actually My Ex-Boyfriend Frog

In her senior year, Lin Jing had few classes. After finishing her graduation thesis early, she made plans with her friends and threw herself into "starting her own business."

The first step in starting a business: put on a green frog costume and sell little ones.

The commercial street was bustling, and Lin Jing was thriving thanks to her many talents. But one day, she suddenly realized that her cool, quiet frog-costume buddy, who always showed up for her and let his actions speak for him, might be her ex-boyfriend, Xie Heng.

When Xie Heng first heard from a friend that Lin Jing was starting her own business, he scoffed. "She just loves doing these impractical things."

His friend: "Then why don't you go take a look?"

Xie Heng: "I'm very busy."

Then the "very busy" Xie Heng ran across three streets before finding a green frog costume to rent, and began staking out the place.

In the dim light, amid the hubbub and shoulder-to-shoulder crowd, Xie Heng recognized Lin Jing at a glance in her mascot suit.

Just like before.

The last time they had met was eighty-one days ago.

Xie Heng had only planned to watch from afar and keep his secret identity hidden. Who knew that, by a twist of fate, hiding inside the costume would let him get close to Lin Jing again?

Later, the streetlights by the bridge flickered on and off, their light shimmering across the water.

The young woman beside him glanced at the distant tower, then at him, and spoke very softly.

"I think you're actually a pretty good person..."

Inside the mascot suit, Xie Heng froze. His heart pounded, and the corners of his mouth rose uncontrollably. Lin Jing seemed to like him again.

But a few seconds later, his smile froze on his face.

He was a nobody now, not Xie Heng.

Did Lin Jing not like Xie Heng anymore?

Lin Jing waited a long time without hearing a reply. She turned and noticed the complicated, awkward emotions on the face beside her, and couldn't help laughing.

"Silly dog."
