After Leaving the Spotlight, I Inherited a Zoo

While rescuing animals, Li You accidentally fell off a cliff. When she woke up, she'd transmigrated into a novel about the entertainment industry as an obscure cannon-fodder character.

In the novel, Li You paid her own way into show business and spent all her savings trying to become famous, but remained an unremarkable nobody. Since she frequently paid to get herself on trending searches, netizens called her a “drama queen.”

In real life, Li You looked at all the repayment notices and bills on her phone: (=OДO=)

She couldn't stay in show business anymore.

She couldn't stay in this vast, expensive city with its rent of 20,000 a month, either.

As Li You packed her things to go live on the streets, she stumbled across a property record: Shanhai Zoo.

The former pet shop owner had always dreamed of having a zoo. Li You's eyes lit up. “Wow, transmigrating wasn't a waste after all!”

Shanhai Zoo had been closed for years and lay in ruins. With no source of income, Li You thought it over and decided to livestream the zoo's renovation, then use the money she earned to buy animals to live there.

But on the very first day of the renovation livestream, a beautiful kitten cautiously wandered in. After being fed, it refused to leave Li You's side.

On the second day, a chubby puppy came bounding over with a “boing, boing” and deliberately threw itself at Li You.

On the third day, two birds made themselves at home on Li You's balcony...

Animals kept flocking to her from all directions. Li You was so delighted she could wake up smiling, but one day she realized that the animals arriving at the zoo were getting more and more unusual...

A South China tiger cub?

A snow leopard cub?

And...

Li You stared, dumbfounded, at the emperor penguin chick in front of her, and began to seriously doubt herself. Was this reasonable?

The little emperor penguin tilted its head. “Is it unreasonable?”

Li You: “!”

Help! The animals at my zoo can talk!

After the founding of the country, no one is allowed to become a spirit. To prevent their identities from being exposed, all young monsters with unstable spiritual powers must live on Kunlun Mountain. They can go down the mountain to seek their families once they've grown up.

But this generation of young monsters is an exception.

The powerful monsters hiding among humans had already made names for themselves, but when they heard their little ones were going down the mountain, they were still worried sick, afraid their identities would be exposed.

They made every possible preparation, then waited and waited, but their little ones never showed up.

The anxious guardians all called in favors to search for them. The movie queen Shan Ying was among them.

She turned down all her work and searched day and night, but found nothing.

Then one day, she happened to come across a livestream...

In the livestream, a pretty young woman was holding a snow leopard cub, smiling awkwardly but politely.

“Today's bulletin number seven: Ms. Bao Xuelian, your little one is at our zoo. He says he misses you...”

Shan Ying watched her son curled up comfortably in someone else's arms. Her vision went black, and she rushed over, brandishing a stick.

You little brat, how many times do I have to tell you?

Your mother goes by Shan Ying now, not Bao Xuelian!!!

When Li You first started livestreaming, a crowd of netizens rushed over to mock her:

[The drama queen finally left show business. Good riddance.]

[There are actually fifty people watching your stream?]

[Renovating a zoo? Hilarious. You'll chase any trend for attention, won't you?]

[Fifteen trending searches in ten days, and you still ended up as an influencer?]

[No one's ever going to visit her zoo.]

A huge crowd of netizens camped out in the livestream, waiting for Li You to give up. Instead, they saw that she hadn't given up, the stream was getting more and more popular, and one big shot after another was showing up.

[A movie queen and a CEO? Li You has some serious connections!]

[Shocked. My white moonlight, who left show business years ago, is at the zoo!]

[When will the zoo open and start selling tickets? I can't wait!]

[Is it just me, or is this livestream really soothing? Watching the animal babies every day makes me feel good, sleep well, and have good luck.]

Li You looked at the group of little monsters around her. “How about meeting a little Feifei that can chase your worries away?”
