Blurb:
Qiong is a Vidyadhara. On the day he became a dragon mentor, the old dragon mentor who had raised him told him that serving the Dragon Lord was his duty.
Qiong's legs nearly gave out just as he was about to undergo the investiture ceremony. He almost tumbled down the long staircase in Scalegorge Waterscape. He couldn't help wondering if these old fogies had watched too many melodramas. This was nothing like what he'd imagined a dragon mentor would be! Hadn't they promised all sorts of perks in the future?
The old dragon mentor patted him on the shoulder and painted him a rosy picture. "Qiong, you're the hope chosen by all of us dragon mentors. The future of the Vidyadhara rests on you!"
Qiong: "Sure."
After becoming a dragon mentor, Qiong treated all the old dragon mentor's advice like hot air. He was carefree and unbound by worldly concerns, and managed both his work and social life. Without even trying, he was a master at winning people's hearts. He made his presence felt all over the Xianzhou, not just among the Vidyadhara, until the famous figures aboard couldn't take their eyes off him.
In the morning, he helped the Dragon Lord with official duties. At noon, he helped Yingxing search for materials. In the afternoon, he had a game of chess and tea planned with Jing Yuan, only to be dragged off to practice swordsmanship by Jingliu, who barged in. In the evening, he still had to admire flowers and the moon, watch a show, and gossip with Baiheng. After a full day, Qiong gazed at the glittering Stellar Jade in his hand, his heart brimming with joy.
Qiong was happy, but the people whose hearts he'd stirred up had quietly begun to take action.
Jing Yuan smiled. "Qiong, our game last night was unfinished. How about another round today?"
Yingxing turned away. "Qiong, didn't you say you liked this dagger last time? I forged you a new one. It's yours."
Jingliu was brief. "Spar with me."
Baiheng: "Come on, come on! Big sis will take you for a ride on a starskiff!"
Dan Feng was expressionless. "Enough. Qiong is my dragon mentor."
Emphasis on mine!
